You check traffic conditions, read your emails, search for a recipe, or ask a digital assistant to help you write an important message.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These actions seem perfectly normal. Yet behind many of them lies a technology that once belonged to science fiction: artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2026, AI is no longer something reserved for scientists or technology companies. It has become an everyday resource for millions of people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What interests me most is not simply that machines can generate text, create images, or answer questions. An older person can request a simpler explanation of a difficult letter. Someone planning a holiday can compare destinations, organize an itinerary, or translate unfamiliar expressions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AI can also suggest meals based on available ingredients, explain household bills, and help organize a weekly budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These may seem like small improvements, but they can make a meaningful difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I believe technology becomes truly valuable when it helps people overcome barriers that previously made ordinary activities unnecessarily difficult.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, the information provided by AI must still be checked, especially when mistakes could have serious consequences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"artificial-intelligence-and-jobs-opportunity-or-threat\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Artificial intelligence and jobs: opportunity or threat?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Few topics generate as much concern as AI and employment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Artificial intelligence can already support writing, programming, customer service, data analysis, administration, and many other professional activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For small businesses, this can mean greater efficiency and lower costs. For employees, it can create opportunities to develop new skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But there are legitimate concerns about job displacement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Research from Stanford Digital Economy Lab, updated in August 2026, found no evidence of widespread job displacement across the US economy. It did, however, identify particular employment difficulties among young workers in occupations highly exposed to AI. It should be about using technology to improve productivity while preserving human skills and opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"education-a-personal-tutor-or-an-easy-shortcut\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Education: a personal tutor or an easy shortcut?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Artificial intelligence offers remarkable possibilities for education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students can receive explanations tailored to their level, practice foreign languages, explore unfamiliar subjects, and ask questions without feeling embarrassed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For families unable to afford private tutoring, these tools may provide valuable additional support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yet there is a risk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When students use AI to complete assignments without understanding the material, they may receive better grades without developing better knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I believe schools should teach students to use artificial intelligence critically, not simply prohibit it or embrace it without limits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Learning how to question an AI-generated answer may become as important as learning how to search for information online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"healthcare-helpful-technology-with-important-limits\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Healthcare: helpful technology with important limits<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In healthcare, artificial intelligence can assist professionals with medical image analysis, information management, and certain clinical workflows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For patients, AI tools can help explain unfamiliar terminology, organize questions before appointments, and understand general health information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These applications may make healthcare information more accessible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, artificial intelligence cannot safely replace qualified medical professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AI-generated explanations may contain errors, overlook important details, or provide inappropriate suggestions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Medical diagnoses, treatments, and decisions must therefore remain under appropriate professional supervision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The goal should be to improve healthcare, not remove the human relationships and responsibilities that make it trustworthy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"privacy-and-deepfakes-the-dangers-we-cannot-ignore\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Privacy and deepfakes: the dangers we cannot ignore<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Artificial intelligence also creates new challenges for digital privacy and online security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Realistic images, videos, and voices can now be generated or manipulated with AI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some of these creations are harmless entertainment.
