This number is more than a statistic. It reflects a freedom that is still limited by&nbsp;<strong>fear<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The issue was addressed by&nbsp;<strong>Mariagrazia Lupo Albore<\/strong>, Director General of&nbsp;<strong>Unimpresa<\/strong>, who commented on the Swg\/Win survey data published on&nbsp;<strong>Unimpresa.it<\/strong>, highlighting that women\u2019s safety is one of the most concrete indicators of the level of civilization of a society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If a woman cannot move freely through&nbsp;<strong>public space<\/strong>&nbsp;without fear, formal equality remains incomplete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"gender-equality-still-perceived-as-unfinished\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Gender equality still perceived as unfinished<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the international survey,&nbsp;<strong>Italy<\/strong>&nbsp;continues to be perceived as a country where&nbsp;<strong>gender equality<\/strong>&nbsp;has not yet been fully achieved. Only 54 percent believe equality exists in the&nbsp;<strong>workplace<\/strong>, compared with a global average of 66 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The same pattern appears in domestic life. Fifty-six percent believe equality has been achieved at home, but this remains below the global average of 71 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These figures suggest that social modernization has progressed but remains uneven. Professional opportunities, the division of family roles, and the perception of women\u2019s position in society still reveal persistent imbalances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"violence-and-harassment-remain-widespread\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Violence and harassment remain widespread<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another critical aspect highlighted by the survey concerns abuse and harassment. Fifteen percent of Italian women report having experienced physical or psychological violence in the past year. Sexual harassment affects 11 percent of women, double the rate reported by men.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These figures describe not only extreme cases reported in the news but also a daily reality shaped by intimidation, pressure, and silent restrictions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When women adjust their behavior to reduce perceived risk \u2014 avoiding certain streets, changing schedules, or taking constant precautions \u2014 freedom is no longer fully exercised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"safety-as-a-measure-of-social-maturity\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Safety as a measure of social maturity<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As emphasized by&nbsp;<strong>Mariagrazia Lupo Albore<\/strong>&nbsp;in her analysis on&nbsp;<strong>Unimpresa.it<\/strong>, women\u2019s&nbsp;<strong>safety<\/strong>&nbsp;cannot be considered a private or marginal issue. Yet the data show that reality is more complex.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the&nbsp;<strong>workplace<\/strong>&nbsp;is still perceived as unequal, if the home is not fully balanced, and if the street remains a source of concern, then the journey toward real equality is far from complete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As&nbsp;<strong>Mariagrazia Lupo Albore<\/strong>&nbsp;points out, the first step toward solving the issue is acknowledging the delay instead of hiding it behind reassuring narratives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"cultural-change-is-still-needed\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Cultural change is still needed<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Legislation plays an essential role, but it cannot alone transform deeply rooted social attitudes.
